The room was very spacious by Japanese standards. Location is hard to beat as it was literally across a street on the east side of Kyoto station. Hotel staff friendly and helpful in storing my luggage before the check-in time and luggage was brought to my room even before I returned that evening.
It would have been nice to have had free wifi in the hotel rooms. Many hotels have them now and they are a very useful service for travellers.

I always stay at this hotel during my autumn/spring trips to Kyoto. It's no frills, you get a basic room and toilet/tub, but it's the convenience and location I enjoy and the price. This hotel has always been good to me when I visit, and staff are always helpful and most speak English.
